Tulip

Tulip, originally uploaded by richiesoft.

I have been disappointed with the tulips this year. Mainly because the wind earlier last month blew them all over and they have never recovered. They are all leaning to one side.

Daffodils

The daffodils did well this year in the garden. They have all finished now really. I never know whether to dead head them or not...?

Courgette Flower

The first flower on the courgette plants. This means that there will be fruits soon and that means lovely courgettes to eat!

Clematis Flower

The clematis has just flowered over the last couple of days. I love the colour of the petals. It contrast very well with the green fencing behind.

Succulent Flowers

I'm afraid this isn't really in focus - I will try and get a better picture tomorrow!

Dahlia

This beautiful Dahlia was a gift from some friends. I have yet to plant it out and the advice I was given was to plant it in the ground in the pot so as to be able to remove it it the winter to keep it warm somewhere. I will look up more about Dahlias as I know very little about them.

The Foxglove is really blooming now. I will try and get some more close up pictures another day as this one is slightly out of focus.

Fritillaria

Fritillaria plants which have just flowered in one of the pots in the garden. I vaguely remember planting the bulbs last autumn. Will have to look up exactly which kind it is. I think I have kept the leaflets that came with the bulbs... They appear very delicate plants.

Red Tulips

Have been in the garden again today and spruced it up a little. I have mowed the lawn and done some weeding in the borders. More importantly I have put in some more canes and attached some black cotton with the hope of deterring the cat from doing it's business all over the vegetable patch. I will be surprised if anything grows as it has been dug over by the cat and then raked over by me a few times now in different areas. I never saw the cat throughout the day today. It must know it has been naughty!

Snow Drops

Snow Drops, originally uploaded by richiesoft.

Spotted these snow drops yesterday morning. Are they early or is it normal for this time of year? They are such dainty little things... beautiful.
