A tomato that is just starting to turn (but is still predominantly green) is fine for recipes such as our Green Tomato and Raspberry Cobbler. But once it has become light red or orange throughout, the formerly green tomato enters a limbo of sorts: Not only has it lost its tang, but it still lacks the complex flavor of a fully ripened tomato.
------------------------------
Hazel

Guaranteed ROIUnknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15987295094681278883noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18919443.post-66215854213784049972008-10-15T11:12:00.000+00:002008-10-15T11:12:00.000+00:00Although it's unthinkable to pluck an ear of corn ...Although it's unthinkable to pluck an ear of corn before it's ripe, tomatoes are fair game. It bears a fruit of the same name, commonly used as a vegetable in cooking. As a night-shade, it is closely related to the tomato and potato and is native to southern India and Sri Lanka. It is a short-lived perennial plant often cultivated as an annual. It grows 40 to 150 cm (16 to 57 in) tall, with large coarsely lobed leaves that are 10 to 20 cm (4-8 in) long and 5 to 10 cm (2-4 in) broad. (Semi-)wild types can grow much larger, to 225 cm (7 ft) with large leaves over 30 cm (12 in) long and 15 cm (6 in) broad.
---------------------

Angelina

Guaranteed ROIolluhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10934083454144487501noreply@blogger.com
